Thomas Chowaniec attended Marquette University to earn his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. This set the foundation for his career and enabled Thomas to indulge in his two biggest passions: business and technology.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Often, our first careers are memorable, if not groundbreaking. Thomas Chowaniec’s first professional role was as a Software Design Engineer for Texas Instruments. He stayed with the company for two years before moving to Ameritech Corporation. Here he became a Segment Marketing Manager. This was Thomas’s first significant leadership role, and he learned much from his time there. Four years later, Thomas found himself in a new role as the Director of Product Management at Dynegy Incorporated (Mantiss). Since then, Thomas has held many unique and exciting positions. He was the Director of Service, Sales, and Marketing (GE Healthcare), Vice President of Customer Care (VIASY Healthcare/Cardinal Health), and VP of the Industry and Nanotechnology Division (Leica Microsystems).

More recently, Thomas Chowaniec landed the role of Executive Vice President for LABSCO/McKesson. He stayed with the company for four years, helping them negotiate and close a deal with Siemens Healthcare (resulting in a $205M exclusive agreement). Following this, Thomas held his title of Executive Vice President but with a different company – Northfield Medical/Agiliti Health. He was recruited by the Northfield CEO in 2018 and stayed with the company for another four years – before being recruited to his current position.

In November 2022, Thomas Chowaniec joined Angstrom Technology as their CEO. Angstrom Technology specializes in custom designing, building, and installing modular cleanrooms. Their specialty is such that they can meet any cleanroom requirements – no matter how stringent they may be. Thomas became part of this team when the company acquired two UK cleanroom companies, requiring help with integration and more. This was a role Thomas was eager to take, as he saw great potential in the Global Cleanroom industry. Since joining, Thomas has helped to drive the integration process to combine the two companies, turning them into one $35 million revenue business. Likewise, he was involved in rebranding and restructuring the company, helping it create a global cleanroom platform.

Thomas Chowaniec recently served on the University of Chicago Booth Angels Group Board. This organization helps connect industry leaders and experts with aspiring entrepreneurs and investors as a way of assisting them to grow and build successful businesses.
